This class will be spread over consecutive Saturday mornings.
You will explore colour mixing for woven tapestry, using a range of techniques including colour mixing, half-passing and hatching.
During the first part of the workshop you will refine your technique for warping your loom and explore colour mixing to create subtle gradations. You will also be introduced to translating painted or printed colour into weaving.
In the second session you will learn the techniques of half-passing and hatching and gain an understanding of how these techniques can be used to create a rich palette of woven colour.

Sara is an artist and master weaver. She was one of the foundation weavers at the Victorian Tapestry Workshop (now the Australian Tapestry Workshop) from its inception in 1976 until 1990, when she moved to Tasmania to teach at the Tasmanian School of Art. Her numerous awards and recognitions are a testimony to her brilliance and skills. Indeed, she's "a bit of a legend" on the frenetic tapestry weaving scene both here and internationally..
